In this issue you will find:

Roller Skis In Stock
The saying goes that skiers are made in the summer. We just received a shipment of OneWay Roller skis. Now is a great time to come in and pick up a pair and start working towards that dream of moving up a wave or two in the Birkie next February.
We have both skate and classic options, stop by and check them out!
New Helmets In Stock
We recently brought in a whole bunch of new helmet models for both road and trail riding, including models equiped with MIPS technology. MIPS stands for Multi-directional Impact Protection System, which is a leading slip-plane technology inside the helmet designed to reduce rotational forces that can result from certain impacts. Stop by and check them out...
NICA / Trek / Cyclova
If you are reading this newsletter you clearly have heard of Cyclova. Odds are pretty good that you have heard of Trek as well. But maybe you aren't familiar with NICA. That is the National Interscholastic Cycling Association. This is the national program for developing mountain biking programs for student athletes all across the United States.
Closer to home NICA is the organization under which the Minnesota High School Cycling League is run. The Minnesota league's mission is "to build strong bodies, strong minds and strong character through cycling, regardless of ability level."
Trek is a major supporter of NICA at a national level and at the individual student athlete level. This is where Cyclova is proud to play a part as well. As a Trek dealer we are able to provide any NICA student athlete and coach special pricing on Trek bikes along with Bontrager shoes and helmets.
So if you have a current NICA student athlete stop by the shop and ask how we can help get them riding a great new Trek bike this season. And if you have a student going into 6th through 12th grade and want to know more about the local NICA teams, we can help get you in touch with them as well.
Financing with a Trek Credit Card
Cyclova is happy to announce that through Trek we can help you with the purchase of your new bike with the Trek Credit Card program.
Check out the details of the program over at Trek Bikes, and stop in the shop to talk with one of us.
Local Trail News
Polk County Trail Use Survey
We love our local trails and want to make sure everybody has an opportunity to give their opinion on trail use. Polk County released a Trail Planning Survey and you only have a few more days to get your trail use opinions noted. Please check out the survey and fill it out!
Woolly Bike Club
The Woolly Bike Club has been putting in some hard work lately and cutting a whole bunch of new trail. They do trail work on Wednesday nights and many times again on Thursday nights if you would like to get involved in the action. Check out Woolly's Facebook page to stay up to date and see what they've been up to.
Upcoming July Events
Get active and get involved by attending one of these upcoming events.
Wannigan Days CyclovaXC - 1 Mile Sprint
A fast, fun, and FREE event that will be taking place just before the Wannigan Days parade on July 21st. As everyone is getting their seats staked out for the parade that goes down Washington Street, Cyclova will be hosting a one mile run. Feel like everyone is there cheering you on as you sprint from Cyclova down to the library and back.
This is a free event and we will be providing video timing.

St. Croix Fat Cat Triathlon
Last month when we asked for feedback, the folks over at the St. Croix Fat Cat Triathlon reached out and asked if we could let people know about their event. A few of the community members have done the event in the past and it is a fun one! A scenic paddle down the St. Croix, followed by a trail run up through William O'Brien State Park, all capped off with a cycle around some of the best roads Scandia has to offer.
This year is the 5th annual event and it will be held on July 14th.

Each month, Cyclova hosts two running events. Sometimes these are local events that we want to support such as the above mentioned City of Trails and the below mentioned Adventure Triathlon. But all of the other times these are completely free and low key events. A few people race it, and many people just come to run with a group. Each second Saturday and fourth Sunday there will be an event. Check the Sasquatch Dash Event Page for the latest news.
Past Event Highlights
We know that it is impossible to do everything. So in case you missed it, here are a few of the events where some of the Cyclova Community participated in last month. May was a busy month!
City of Trails
One of the corner stone events showcasing the incredible trails in St. Croix Falls, the City of Trails hosted 1k, 5k, 10k, and half marathon races on June 9th.
From Cyclova employee kids racing in the 1k race, all the way up to Greg Atkinson crushing the half marathon field and setting a new course record in a blazing 1:33:47, there were lots of Cyclova community members to be found.
Hopefully you also had a chance to check out the Altra shoe display shop owner Jim Kelley had set-up near the finish line. Cyclova even gave away two pairs of Altra shoes to a couple of lucky race finishers, along with $25 store gift certificates to the male and female winners of the 5k, 10k and half marathon events. If you missed the display and didn't win, stop on in to the shop to check out the selection of shoes for both trail and road.
Basics of Bike Maintenance
On a nice Thursday evening in June, one of the shop owners, Steve Hamlin gave a presentation at the St. Croix Falls Library on basic bike maintenance. Steve went through the basics of maintaining your bike, making brake and deraileur adjustments on some participants bikes who ended up with a free tune-up at the end of the presentation.
We know there were a bunch of Cyclova community members doing any number of other events this past month. We would love to publish a little something about your adventures. If you have a picture and a couple of sentences to describe the event we would help get the word out. Hit us up at the contact form below.
So what did we hear rumors of otherwise going on this past month? We know there has been a lot of cool stories and epic adventures... Sends us a few pics with your story and will share it out in the next newsletter.
Cyclova employee Tammi ran a strong race, laying down her second best time in 2 years. Greg may have found his Achilles heel, or actually it sounded like maybe a calf issue and reigned the effort in part way through the event.
After thinking they escaped the weather with no additional rain over night and a forecast that looked like a good day to mountain bike, riders of the Cheq 100 event in Cable WI faced some serious downpours. The event originally planned to have both a 100k and 100 mile option was shortened to about 70 miles for the long event. Fortunately it sounds as though the trail escaped any damage, though we know of at least one bike who's drive train can't claim the same!
After last year's epic cold and wet conditions it sounds as though the conditions at Lutsen this year were much better. Those of us working in the shop that day checking out the results were stoked to see all of our friends having great races on a day that appeared to have a stellar field.
